The Buffalo Trace Prohibition Collection pays homage to the Prohibition era in the United States, which lasted from 1920 to 1933. During this challenging time, the production, sale, and transportation of alcoholic beverages were strictly forbidden, leading many distilleries to either shut down or switch to producing "medicinal whiskey," one of the few legal ways to make alcohol. The Prohibition Collection captures the spirit of this era, offering whiskies with bold and robust flavors that reflect the clandestine nature of whiskey production and consumption of that time. The packaging, featuring vintage labels and designs, evokes the 1920s and 1930s, transporting one back to this pivotal period.
