The Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Finish is a groundbreaking collaboration between two iconic producers. Released in November 2014 as the ninth installment of Woodford Reserve's celebrated Master's Collection, this expression was crafted under the guidance of Master Distiller Chris Morris. Fully matured Woodford Reserve bourbon was finished for an additional 10 months in French oak barrels that previously held three vintages of Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir—shipped directly from California wine country to Kentucky. The result is a creative fusion of bourbon and wine traditions that paved the way for future innovation in the Master's Collection series.

This whiskey pours a rich, deep garnet hue—a striking visual testament to its wine cask influence. On the nose, vibrant red fruit and berry aromas mingle with warm cinnamon, clove, toasted oak, and dark caramel. The palate is warm and fruit-forward, featuring layers of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, balanced by crisp spiciness and subtle oak sweetness.
